Cynically Cynth Fitness

What does being “fit” or “in shape” mean to you? The answer depends on your training age, experience, and what you perceive is possible. No matter what your goals, following a program consistently will lead you on the road to success. Here’s a snapshot of what the ideal training program includes:

01

Movement Assessment - Everybody is different, therefore every body is different. A good trainer will observe clients’ movements and recognize their Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats. They will determine what movements and muscle groups are strong enough to be challenged at the next level. Weaknesses, or imbalances, are identified and provide an opportunity to see what can be improved to prevent injury (threats to your health) throughout training and everyday life. When a trainer sees how you move, they can determine how to best coach you.

02

Exercise Routines - Your prescribed program is tailored to you based off of your movement assessment and current lifestyle. Whether it’s your first time stepping into a gym or you’re a former collegiate athlete, you’ll have a flexible plan to follow on the days you meet with your trainer and on your own.

03

Coaching and Accountability - Your trainer is your biggest fan and the set of eyes you need to see that the prescribed exercises are being done correctly. Training sessions allow you to get face time with your trainer and instant feedback on the movements being taught. Showing up to the session will help you get to your goals, but the real work is everything you do outside the session.

04

Nutrition - Food is fuel, and when we educate ourselves about the different facets of nutrition we’ll be able to make better choices. Finding the right balance of nutrients for our bodies will allow us to thrive both in the gym and in social settings. You can have your cake and eat it too--with the right strategy. We start with where you are now, and make small improvements in the form of habits.

05

Habit Goal Setting - The crash diet cycle does not work and isn’t sustainable for overall health, so we holistically take a look at your lifestyle and make a game plan of beneficial habits to pick up and bad habits to quit. Like adding money from each paycheck to a retirement account, the habits have a compound interest for better health.

06

Mindset - The single most important area of fitness is filling the space between your ears with positivity. The mind is the command center of the body, and when your mind is sound the body will follow suit. Our thought processes tend to be what holds us back and cynical about our goals. Progress is an ongoing process, and when we express gratitude for the things we have in our lives and the small wins we accomplish every day, our mindset will be the gateway to our success.
